Moments on Mission:
A Neuro-Supportive NICU Learning Lab Series
scroll on to learn more!
As a NICU clinician, there's an endless amount of knowledge and skills you must know to keep your patients safe. It's overwhelming to think about doing it all...especially when you're just starting out in the NICU setting.
The truth is, you can't provide safe and optimal medical care for your patients if it's not also neuroprotective and developmentally-supportive.
No one works harder than a bedside provider in the NICU. You're keeping up with new policies, juggling patient assignments, building confidence to speak up, trying to navigate intimidating diagnoses or situations...all while supporting and educating NICU families.
And because neuroprotective, developmentally supportive care is a model of NICU practice that EVERY care provider is responsible for...you may find yourself trying to figure out how to get what you need done while simultaneously making it as developmentally supportive as possible.
When you're new to the NICU, or in survival mode during a busy shift...it's hard to put in the neuro-supportive efforts you know your tiny patients deserve.
You no longer have to feel guilty about powering through your baby's stress signs, because instead of using a reactive approach during care, you use a proactive approach that eliminates infant stress signs and improves the flow of your care.
You feel less overwhelm during shifts, because what once felt like "extra", is becoming intuitive and integrated.
You're not abandoning the prone roll, but instead feel like a positioning champion when your baby is in a perfect weight-bearing position in prone over your perfect prone roll (you're going to want to show your work wife, it's so good!).
You'll have less pre-shift "scaries", because you're more prepared for situations you once second-guessed.
i'm ready to make shifts easier!
This training lab is NOT another webinar series explaining the importance of developmental care.
This is where you move beyond why it's important, and start...
integrating handling hacks, micro-habits, and critical reasoning skills that help you turn routine NICU moments into powerful bedside and brain-boosting wins! These labs are about overcoming your barriers.
By incorporating real videos of NICU babies, interactive workbook activities, handling demonstrations, real-life inspired case studies, and post-lab shift challenges...this series is 100% focused on helping you take transformative action on your next shift.
This is where NICU nurses, neonatal therapists, and other passionate bedside providers master the micro-moves that integrate developmental care with confidence and ease.
The Moments on Mission NICU Training Lab is THE training ground to take you from second-guessing and lacking confidence in neuro-supportive care skills, to a truly integrated NICU skill-set that leaves you feeling like a NICU champion at every touch time without the overwhelm or extra time.
This lab series is for bedside providers who are in the thick of it. For the NICU clinicians who know infant experiences have the power to positively impact the brain's structures and functions , but need the actionable skills to realistically integrate it into your workflow on a busy shift.
This is for providers who want to be developmental leaders on their unit.

LIVE Q & A with a certified neonatal therapist with 10 years of clinical experience working with complex infant populations in a level 4 NICU.
You become the beacon and example for developmental care on your unit.
Developmental, family-centered care brings humanity back to the NICU experience. You're able to look at the WHOLE baby, and not just their immediate medical concerns. Instead of picking and choosing between good medical care and developmental care, it's integrated together...nourishing the best outcomes for y our babies. And, you're now confidently educating families to do the same.
Imagine that instead of giving into the hustle of the NICU and abandoning neuro-supportive care in order to get to all of your babies on time, your skills are integrated into your flow seamlessly. So even when you're behind, you can protect your babies.
The truth is, you can't use skills you don't have, and every touch point you have with a baby in the NICU will either influence a positive or negative outcome.
imagine this...
Katie is an experienced certified neonatal occupational therapist with a Doctorate in Occupational Therapy from Washington University School of Medicine. She's spent over a decade working with medically complex babies and their families in multiple 100+ bed, level 4 NICUs across the United States. In addition to being a grassroots neonatal therapist, she holds additional certifications in neonatal touch and massage and lactation, is a guest lecturer for graduate therapy programs across the country, virtual NICU parent coach, sought after NICU podcast guest, business owner, and mom of 3 (with one NICU baby and stay!).
Katie has served "in trenches of neonatal care" as a bedside provider and serving on some amazing developmental care teams. She has helped lead bedside quality improvement initiatives focused on the implementation of unit-wide swaddled bathing, parent-led standing transfers for skin-to-skin holding, non-pharmacological pain relief, neuro-supportive eye exams, neuro-supportive admissions processes, and more. She's passionate about nourishing the best possible NICU experiences for babies and families.
"One thing I’ve learned after a decade of serving NICU babies and families at the bedside is it takes a village of people to make brain-supportive care possible (and it's really hard to get everyone on board!). I've been where you are, and I'm passionate about helping NICU clinicians like you build neuro-supportive and family-integrated skills that leave you feeling empowered and fulfilled. Cheering you on! Don't grow weary in doing good."
